A look into the life of painter Mark Rothko in the late 1950s as he and his assistant work on a commission for the Four Seasons restaurant in New York. Based on a true story, this Tony-winning play gives insight into Rothko’s struggle between his need for commercial success and his own artistic integrity, while exploring the dynamics of artist and assistant.
